Beginner's Mind Pool School

Thank you for your interest in pool instruction.

I focus on teaching fundamentals and offer coaching/tips for 8-ball and 9-ball. 

I am currently a Member of the Family of SPF Instructors, and  a Certified BCA Instructor which is the second level of four levels of instructors. Also I have reciprocal certification as an Certified Instructor/Coach with American Cuesports Alliance and I am certified as a P.A.T. Examiner. PAT is a training and testing system of playing ability from Europe.

My  teaching method, materials and information, are based upon my instructor training at Cue Tech Pool School in Dallas, Texas, home of the SPF family of certified instructors as well as a BCA Master Academy. My instructor training had heavy emphasis on fundamentals which I teach in the context of over  forty years playing experience.

SPF stands for Set, Pause, Finish, Freeze and is the language used to describe a natural pendulum pool stroke, which I teach.

For private instruction, I recommend starting with an intro to SPF Fundamentals which is a detailed lesson on grip, bridge, stance, stroke, etc.

It takes about six hours of private instruction to complete SPF fundamentals. A sample class/lesson outline is on the next page of this site.

Classes are four hours and offer an intensive introduction to SPF fundamentals. Private lessons are usually 2 hours.

Deposits are non-refundable but can be used as a credit for future classes or lessons.

I will send you a confirmation email when your payment is received. Full payments are refundable less deposit.

Regular teaching hours for classes and lessons are every afternoon, noon to 4 PM,  at Family Billiards.

I also offer "play the pro, trick shot exhibitions" for corporate parties, etc.  Contact me via email for details.
